Railways progress report for week ending 1.5th December :—
Baghdad-Fallujah .—Extension standard gauge. Linking completed to
mile 30. All labour concentrated on completion of formation from mile 30 to
Pallujah mile 36. By 20th December line will be linked through to Pallujah.
Basrah-Qurnah Bailway. —3 miles linked from Nahr Umar towards
Basrah. 11 miles remain to be linked.
Baquhah-Shahrohan. —Narrow gauge. Branch line from Abu Jisra to
Abusaida 5 miles long commenced. Eormation 1 mile complete.
Baghdad-Musayib. —Extension standard gauge. Eormation completed
to mile 10J. Earthworks on formation also started at mile 33.
Baqubah-Beltawa-Tuwair. —Narrow gauge Survey in progress.
