About October 20th the infantry began to leave. Battalions entrained
about every second day. It was said that they were proceeding to Constanti
nople and eventually to Palestine. Py November 7th all the infantry had
left Nauhammer and the artillery was expected to leave shortly afterwards.
Several thousand men arrived on November 6th as drafts for these new
formations. From intercepted German

Eecommend two mechanics accompany repair outfit; salary £25 per month
and other conditions same as mechanic operators. Suggested army waggons
be utilised as stone lorries hut could supply from* here at £45 each except
(expect ?) despatch Eehruary. Eollowing information desired (1) when will
harvest begin ; (2) will men he under civil or military authority ; (3) should
men go by same vessel as machines or by later vessel to avoid possible enforced
idleness on landing awaiting despatch machines to destinations; (4) if lorries
still desired how many required. Earliest possible reply desired. Prices free
