Owing to arrival of 18th Division and 11th Cavalry Brigade neither
Stationary nor General Hospital can be spared. After arrival of above
mentioned formations proportion of beds to strength will still be below our
normal requirements. If the C. C S. is considered more important to Egypt
I am prepared to dispense with it, and if it is decided that C. C. S. should be
sent I suggest that number 31 now forming in India should be despatched.

In September the Pasha An Ottoman title used after the names of certain provincial governors, high-ranking officials and military commanders. force at Nauhammer, according to statements
of deserters comprised—
(a) according to the statement of one deserter, the Infantry battalions
Nos. 701-9, each having a machine gun company and trench mortar section,
by the statement of another deserter, Pasha An Ottoman title used after the names of certain provincial governors, high-ranking officials and military commanders. regiments 1-2-3. Also two new
artillery formations Nos 703 and 707, whose guns were described as field
howitzers of a new pattern, also telephone detachment. Motor lorries for
transport. The strength of the companies of the Infantry battalions was
about 150, these were issued with the usual field grey kit and the so-called
Khaki drill kit with sun helmets, good boots and a double issue of under
clothing.
