In April it was reported that 10th Dep 6 t Regiment had recently arrived
at Kaisariyeh, and a deserter of 60th Caucasus Battalion states on July 24th,
that the 3rd I)ep 6 t Regiment and 1,500 recruits training were at Kaisariyeh.

Commence with current week and telegraph eight sets of figures without
headings.

1, Reference my 27173, dated December 28th last (Dy. No. 101219).
Marsh wired on December 27th deserter’s statement that 39th regiment had
been reformed and sent to Mosul. Marsh wires No. T. L.-200, July 24th, state
ment of deserter of the 4th Caucasus Battalion, who in January last was in
Diarbekr, that he saw there 39th Regiment with 16 guns half manned by
Germans. Guns (went ?) towards Baghdad. Marsh wires No. T. L.-231, July
24th, statement of two Russians, who on June 5th escaped from Mardin, that
they saw a Turkish Infantry force accompanied by German Artillery marching
southward. This force had been in Gallipoli. Marsh suggests this might be
the 39th regiment. But please refer to my 38197 (Dy. No. 49579) and 38883
{Dy. No. 52484).
