The Secretary of State for India intimated that in view of the distance between the General Officer

Commanding, Force “ D,” and Basrah and of his other pre-occupations, the War Cabinet had decided
that the Bushire force should revert to the command of the Commander-in-Chief in India, who would
in future issue orders to the General Officer Commanding, Bushire, His Majesty’s Minister, Tehran,
being freely consulted. Beference should be made when necessary to the Secretary of State, who
presumed that India would be able to reinforce Bushire should the necessity arise.

vessel, -was forwarded to the Secretary, War Office.
