On May 25 th H. T. “ Aronda ” left Basrah having onboard, under the
command of Captain B. C. Simpson, 130th Baluchis, the following Trans-frontier
Pathan details:—

All have been re-equipped with clothing, etc., fully armed, and supplied
with tentage. I, however, withdrew their ammunition. At the idea of going
to reinforce the 130th Baluchis in East Africa they all appeared contented and
happy On May 31st the <£ Aronda ” should arrive at Bombay. There are
now no more Trans-frontier Pathans in Force “ D ” as the aboVe detachment is
the last and final one.

Marsh sends the following.
A Greek deserter states that on April 24th the entire 8th Division complet
ed detrainment at Ras-el-Ain. On April 26th 22nd Begiment started for
Mesopotamia, 24th Begiment for Diarbekir, and 23rd Begiment for Mardim On
April 29th deserter saw at Mardin the 25th and 26th Begiments belonging to
the 9th Division which also detrained at Bas-el-Ain. From this and other
information there are indications that in the 8th Division the 17th Begiment
has replaced the 22nd Begiment. The headquarters of this Division on May
24th were said to be between Shin and Kulp, south-west of Mush.
