Three officers belonging to the Russian Cavalry patrol, viz., one Sotnik
Persian Cossack Brigade, one Sotnik and one Khorunji of Cossack Brigade
from (?) reached Basrah. In view of political importance which emphasises
the unity of British and Russian forces as well as identifying Persian interests
it is perhaps desirable that the occasion should be marked by decorating all
officers of the patrol instead of only one as reported in telegram No. 6 S.C.,
(Dy. No. 55114), dated May 20th, but which up to the present has not been
actually conferred, and by giving proportion of Distinguished Conduct Medals
to the men. Please reply “Clear line” giving full instructions as to what
decorations should be conferred.
