Tigris Line.—On 26th September, 6th Division moved to line Chahela on right bank, to Nakhailat, on
left bank, without opposition. Aerial reconnaissance on 26th September drew artillei'y fre, and there
was artillery fire against our advanced post in the afternoon. Otherwise enemy showed no activity on
26th September and aerial reconnaissance found little change. Our advanced troops exploded several
contact land mines on 26th. Recent photographs of Sinn position, taken by aviators, show what appear
to be three separate systems of land mines in main positions and a triple line of wire entanglements.
Boat bridge across Tigris accompanied 6th Division and has been re-established in the new position.
One of our aeroplanes made a bad landing on 26th and will be out of action for two days. 27th
September will be devoted to feints and further reconnaissance.
