To—The Chief of the General Staff.
It does not seem at all probable that Captain Dickson, who is attached
to the 33rd Cavalry, but who is now employed away from the regiment,
will return to it.
There are therefore very few senior regular officers with the regiment.
The presence of such officers with the regiment is urgently needed, and I hope
that it will be possible to despatch at least two at a very early date.
