It should please be noted that the provisional batslions being formed to
replace the three British battalions taken prisoner at Kut-al-Amar ah will have
the same designations as the latter, and will represent them for as long as the
war lasts.

In connection with the building of the Nasiriyah railway it will be neces*
sary to place stations beyond Zubair in fortified serais with garrisons of from
100 to 200 rifles in corner of blockhouse.
It is probable that plans of these as constructed on N.-W. Frontier are
available and if you will send me copies of the same I shall be much
obliged.
