28-3-16
. The General Officer Commanding, Poree “ D,” was informed of the Commander-in-Chief’s approval to
Surgeon-General Hathaway proceeding to England, and to the senior administrative medical officer
acting as Director of Medical Services.
The General Officer Commanding, Porce “ D, 5 ’ was given a repetition of a telegram from the Director,
Eoyal Indian Marine, on the subject of providing river hospital ships for Force D.”
The Secretary, War Office, was informed that 48 cases of suspected enteric fever were reported by the
Director of Medical Services, Force “ D,” to have arrived from Egypt.
The General Officer Commanding, Force “ D,” stated that during the Turkish regime it was the practice
to remit surplus revenus to Waqf Department, Central Waqf Administration in Constantinople, and
suggested that the present Waqf surplus shou 1 d be remitted to the Sharif of Mecca and the fact
made public.
A detailed report of the guns in use in Mesopotamia and also the ammunition on hand, was received
from the General Officer Commanding, Force “ D.”
A satement shewing progress of river craft to Basrah was published by the Quartermaster GeneraTs
Branch.
