A Persian treatise on the fretting of musical instruments, by Qāsim ibn Dūst ʿAlī Bukhārī (قاسم ابن دوست علي بخارى).

The present copy was completed by the scribe Muḥammad Amīn in Delhi on 19 Rabīʿ II 1075/9 October 1664 ( see colophon Section at the end of a manuscript text. , f. 246r, lines 7-9).

A diagram in red ink labelled in Persian, 'A musical circle copied from a Frankish [European] book' (دايره موسيقى از كتاب فرنگى نوشته شد), has been added at the end of the treatise (f. 246r).

Begins (f. 240v, lines 1-3):

نغمات حمد كامله حكيم كار سازى را اعظم شأنه كه ثنا خوانى عند ليبان كلشن سبوح قدوس

ربنا و رب الملائكة و الروح بهواى لقائى اوست و آوازه شكر شامله كريم بنده نوازى

را كه خوش الحانى مرغان چمن فازكرونى از كركم...

Ends (f. 246r, lines 6-7):

بطريقه مولانا صفي الدين عبد المؤمن كه ايشان والد جناب فضايلمآب كمالات

اكتساب خواجه عبد الله مرواريد اند...
