weather. These spaces will have to be built up, leaving one or two small
openings as ventilators near the roof, and leaving also a part of space 1 to be
fitted up as a window to light the south corridor on the upper floor, and for a
similar reason it would be an advantage to open out a front window in the
south corridor on the ground floor, where shown. The open and exposed
portion above the staircase ought also to be roofed over like the other parts.
Ihese alterations would add greatly to the general comfort of the hospital

The Despatch is in reference to despatch No. 1 dated 16 January 1874 from the Duke of Argyll, Secretary of State for India.
