tak^n active rnpaaurea with regard to resumption of
traffic on the Bunder Abbas route.
Company urge that Hi3 Majesty's Government should
continue to recognise the importance of maintaining
Bakhtiari route open to traffic, and they surest that a
portion of South Persia Police Force be stationed in the
areas on that route liable to attacks by robbers.
Expenses of maintaining this force could be met by
imposition of small charge on each package passing, which
they think consignees would willingly pay,
In view of greatly increased revenue to Bakhtiari out
of tolls during last three years, it cannot be contended
of
that traffic on Bakhtiari route is not/sufficient
importance to them to warrant cost of providing proper
protection in the section und°r their jurisdiction.
Company conclude by asking for any information which
can be given them it it is considered expedient for
political or other reasons to discontinue support extended
to them in their efforts to maintain traffic over
Bakhtiari route.
Please telegraph your observations.
