telegraphed to his Government that His majesty's
Government consider military position in the west
as well high desperate, and that a German peace seen
inevitable within the next few months, that His
majesty's Government are now devoting their chief
endeavour to maintaining the situation in the East,
tut that recent appeal to India for a greater effort
had elicited despondent reply from the Viceroy.
Persian Minister in Paris has telegraphed that
his continued residence in Paris is impossible owing
to bombardment and Zeppelins,, and asks for money to ’
enable him to leave.
These reports as well as statements issued by
the Turkish Embassy as to our vast losses of
prisoners are exercising a very bad effect.
