who requested Sir A. T. Wilson to intervene on his behalf with His Maiestv’s
Consul, Shiraz, and was most profuse in expression of friendship. Ma 3 est y
October 10th.—Leit Borazjun 6 a.m , arrive Rudak 10 a.m. Found no
horses or mules ready so walked to Kamarji about 1^ hours up the pass aSd
borrowed Worses from Quli Khan to Ephdar (2 hours) where FordWenette
awaited us kindly supplied by Captain VRliers Stuart, Officer Commanding,
South Persia Rifles Kazerun. Went by cart to Kazerun (J hour) and spent
benight 616 0 fficer - Commandin S» South Persia Rifles. Baggage arrived
October 11th.—Leit Kazerun 7-30 a.m., arrived Pul-i-Abgineh with kit
servants 8-30 by Ford Vanette : fresh mules and horses kindly supplied
by Officer Commanding, South Persia Rifles, Kezerun, awaited us here. Arrived
Dasntarjin 6 n.M., very well received by local people everywhere.
^ October -Left Lashtarjin 10 a.m. for Bineh Safid half wav to
Khaneh Zinian and awaited arrival of His Majesty’s Consul, Shiraz’s party,
who appeared about midday, proceeded with them to Chihil Chasmah hour’s
distance where camp was pitched. Introductory conversation with Khans
during afternoon and evening. Erost at night.
October 13th. —Conversations with Khan. Water in mug under bed in
tent frozen solid.
October 14th. —Negotiations with Khans culminating in signature of
agreement about 4 p.m. Mr. Clegg at once left with baggage for Dashtarjin.
Sir A. T. Wilson followed at 8-30 p.m.
October 15th. —Left 6-30 a.m. for Kazerun, arriving 3-30 p.m.
Otober 16th. —Left 6 a m. by Ford Yenette for Rahdar, arriving 7 a.m.
rode to Kudak arriving 10 a.m. Left in Ford Car 11 a m., arriving Bushire
6 p.m.
