the 20th October 1921, from the Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. in the

2. The Government of India consider it important to assist the
■anglo-Persiai Oil Company in their enterprise, but do not viev-
the proposal to survey the Gena'vah anchorage to he of such
pressing necessity as to be allowed seriously to interfere with
the general survey programme as proposed in paragraph 3 of your
letter Do.biJbS-M., dated the 2vth July 1921 0 I am therefore to
request that you will kindly state whether it ”ill be possible for
the B.I.M.G. "Palinurus” to carry out this survey while she is
in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , without seriously interfering ’"ith her other
work and without additional cost.
3. v If it should be possible for the P.I.m.d. '''Palinurus" to
undertake this preliminary survey, I am to request that the-
necessary orders mav be issued and the Government of India
informed accordingly.
