A copy of a letter from Harford Jones, Resident in Bagdad [Baghdad], to Lord Elgin, HM Ambassador to the Ottoman Empire, sent from Bagdad and dated 15 September 1801.

In response to Elgin’s letter of 3 August (catalogued as IOR/L/PS/9/76/174), Jones objects angrily to the censure of some aspects of his conduct during a dispute with the Pashaw [Büyük Sulaymān Pāshā, Governor of Baghdad].
