Two letters from Louisa Abbott, widow of Robert Abbott, late East India Company Agent in Aleppo, to Harford Jones, Resident in Bagdad [Baghdad], dated 19 April and 26 May 1799.

The letters concern the transit of mail via Aleppo, including issues around the payment of messengers, and forward news from Tripoly [Tripoli] and Latachia [Latakia] concerning the French invasion of Palestine (IOR/L/PS/9/76/73).
