An anonymous letter to the Chairman of the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. of the East India Company, sent from Bussorah [Basra] and dated 12 March 1791.

The author reports that he has arrived in Bussorah and forwarded to India news of negotiations with Spain, and that he intends to depart for Surat the following day.
