Finance Department was taken over by the Persian Chief Quarantine
Medical Officer. The disease showing the highest incidence was as usual
Malaria. The finances of the Hospital showed an excess of expenditure
over income. The Customs department withdrew their contribution to the
Hospital in September the Shahi voluntary tax was in arrears and averaged
Tomans
10,000 Persian dinars, or a gold coin of that value.
110 per mensem which is about half the amount expected. The
year concluded with this tax three months in arrears.
