CHAPTER II.
NOTE ON EVENTS IN THE MISHUN AND GACH QARAGULT
AREAS DURING 1935.
Throughout the year no further active development of this area has
been carried out. The usual routine maintenance of wells, roadte and
buildings has been done, and all property has been kept in repair.
The Ganowah wireless station has been fitted out with new apparatus
and is now in regular operation with Gulf Shipping, acting as a radio
beacon for direction finding purposes. He transmits his call signal on
705 metres for duration of five minutes commencing five minutes after every
hour of daylight G. M. T.
During the year the decision was taken to re-open the area with the
object of drilling further test wells at Gach Qaraguli and elsewhere.
Road surveys have been carried out, and a geological party began work
in the area in October with the object of locating test well sites. Drilling
operations will be put in hand during 1936. N
The guarding arrangements remain the same as reported for the year
1934, and no changes worthy of mention have been made.

' prepared by the Political Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. in Bushire and printed at the Government of India Press in New Delhi for the years 1926-1938.

These annual reports are divided up into a number of separate reports for different geographical areas, usually as follows:

The reports are all introduced by a short review of the year written by the Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. .
