United Kingdom trade continues to decline mainly owing
to Japanese competition of cheap goods. Soviet imports
into Iran are likely to increase as a result of the
recently concluded trade agreement between Iran and
the Soviet Union. Germany maintains her position
but Italian trade with Iran has- suffered a severeblow
from the imposition of an embargo by the Iran Government
on all imports from Italy. There was no improvement
of the financial position and money continued to be
scarce. Importers found it difficult to carry on
business under existing conditions.
