Tub Ordinary Monthly Meeting of this Society took place in their Rooms, Town
Hall, on Thursday the 19th April 1849, at 3 o’clock p. m.

By Government.—Reports of the Superintendent of Roads and Tanks, and other
Engineer Officers under this Presidency The name given to each of the three divisions of the territory of the East India Company, and later the British Raj, on the Indian subcontinent. , for the year 1846 47. With a letter from
J. G. Lumsden, Esq., Secretary to Government, General Department, dated 26th
March, No. 889 of 1849.
By the Author.—Journal of the passage from the Dharee Falls to the Hirnphal,
by Captain Feuwick, (late of the Nizam’s Service) in charge of 10 boats laden
with coal, by order of R. N. C. Hamilton, Esq., Resident, Indore.—Co nmunicat-

Letters.— Prom Captain F. T. Powell, I. N., Commanding Indus Flotilla,
No. 97, dated Raj Ghaut, the 21st March last, acknowledging the Secretary’s
letter, No. 59, of the 26th of December last, relative to the Tidal and Meteorolo-
gical Observations, and recommending the instruments &c. being at once sent up
to the care of Mr. Acting Master Tucker, in charge of the Guard vessel, who will
e instructed to take charge of the same until the arrival of Captain Powell at
that place ; and requesting to bo supplied with full instructions, and forms of Re-
gisteis to bo kept to accomplish the object in view.
