This item consists of copies of correspondence, minutes, and consultations cited in, or enclosed with, political letters from the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions. . These political letters appear in IOR/F/4/2302/118727.   • A dispute between Alexander Hector and the port officials at Bushire [Bushehr] who refused to take charge of 5,000 muskets which he was importing
  • Settlement about the amount payable by Sheik Houssein [Shaikh Ḥusayn] at Bushire due to him having delayed a boat and assaulted one of the owners
  • Concerns about cossids carrying British messages being seized between Shiraz and Isfahan.
