This item consists of copies of correspondence, consultations, resolutions, and minutes cited in, or enclosed with, political letters from the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions. [Mumbai]. The item concerns building a suitable residence for Hamerton at Zanzibar, including detailed estimates of the costs of materials and labour. The need for a house at Zanzibar is also the subject of IOR/F/4/2006/89516.
