4. Ihe boundary to be detendned therefore appears to
be idie 1 ; or them boundary of the autonomous i;urdisii
tates which are to be created under a British
protectorate. It is not necessary at the present
juncture to demarcate the boundary between these
autonomous States md the Arab Jtate.

Taking Til as our most Northern point on the
Zest, a line is to be drawn Eastwards to the
Persian boundary.
Suggestions which have been cade are;’-
(i) Those contained in Political Bagdad’s tele^prams
10852 and 10653 of 18/3208. This frontier
appears to go too far North.
(ii) Frontier sugr^sted in Ba^idada’ telegram Ilo.
707 of 18 '1/19.
(iij Frontier suggested in Gr # 0.C. Bagdad telegmi
X5585 of 10/3/19 to 0 # I,Cr.3. on tiie supposition
that the area occupied is to be limited to the
Posul Vilayet.
(iv)Bouniaiy suggested by .1.2 dated 13/3/19.
Of these the most generally favoured boundaries
would seem to be that from Bursah on the Persian
border to Harakol thence to Challek and Til.
r - •'
The objection to this boundary seme to be that
it includes Julamerk area which the 0.0.C.
liesopotamia has reported he is unable to coritrol.
It would however have the advantage of bringirg
. within our declared influence the area formerly
inhabited by the Christians of Hakkiari.
