posal received from Admiralfy after consultation with P.H.T.O* Begins
''Your 0022 February 1st arrived too late to catch me at DelSgoa Bay,
but I had discussed there with G.O.C. and D. .T.O. the Inland Water
Transport Department, I reconunend Inland Water Transport should take
over all piers, cranes loading facility etc. from Military landing
Officers Department, also the stevedoring ex ships and clearing
lighters etc on shore, this to include the present stevedo’igg con-
trace at Dar-es-Salaam. The stevedoring t o be under the irastBruo-
tions of the D.K.T.O., but the Inland Water Transport t o be responsi
ble for all tallying, handling and safe checking of military stores.

mechanics of Inland Water Transport be lent for work in Dockyard.

port Lindi to Mingoyo, for vlr ich suitable motor boats and lighters
would ne handed over. This will release naval ratings now employed
