There have been indications from time to time in correspond
ence with India and London that additional troops are being
prepared for despatch to this country should situation
demand it
Russians
ppear to me to have no definite
plans and it is hard to get replies from them whilst to
Russians back at Kermanshah our right flank is exposed
and responsibilities in this direction are considerably
increased
I submit therefore that time has come when
we should cease to depend on such unreliable allies whilst
still urging them to any offensive action possible and
I would ask that in order to replace deficiency caused by
Russian defection such additional troops as may be available
complete with artillery and other arms should be placed at
my disposal. As hitherto I am still reluctant to ask for
these and have deferred doing so so long as I can justifi
ably do so. Apart from Russian fiasco all goes 'well but
I feel bound to look ahead although we are brim full of
