provision of lights at Yenj am, Yaskat, and SheiMi Miuaib on
the following grinds.
Very large- number., of vessels are now using Hen jam as
coaling base overage about four transports weekly. When
convoying is being done, owing to presence of raiders in Indian
Ocean, Hen jam is uded as assembling port for transports end
coaling base for thd escort. During period of April to June
when transports were being convoyed light on oeacon wo,s found
so necessary that temporary hand lamp was set up by one of
H # M. ships. Although convoying discontinued 1 May necessary
any moment to resume it. Provision of Ren jam light will be
valuable under any circumstances both in peace and war time
and is justified if only to meet needs navy and transports in
event of patrolling and convoying being resumed.
I askat and Dheikb S- iuaib lights would be groat assistance
to men of war traaisports and merchant vessels. Reasons.
