His Excellency the Ustandar,
Kerman.
After comp 1 iments,
I have received information which indicates
that one Mirza, son of the late Mir Barakat, who
frequents the areas of Jask and Rusul-Kuh on the
Biyadan coast, is responsible for numerous acts of
piracy on the high seas. At least four cases of
attacks on and looting of dhows passing through the
Straits of Hormuz during the past year are believed
to have oeen carried out by tnis man and his gang.
In view of the increased carriage by dhows
of essential supplies important both to the British
and the Iranian Governments, Your Excellency will
agree that it is highly desirable that the piratic/fal
deprecations of Mirza and his men should be brought
to a speedy end.
I should be glad to learn therefore if steps
can be taken for their suppression by the Iranian
Military or the Amnieh department.
Please accept the assurance of my very high
consideration.
