would not help me in this matter owing to the good
relations between them and the Shaikh of Fujairah.
When I started for the./for the Wali of Sohar’s
place at the hour fixed to receive his information I
met him in the way

uttered that he had no doubt that Mirza bin Berkat was
at the moment sheltering in Fujairah. 1 got very much

astonished at this but kept quiet.
My inquiries in Sohar.
The Amin of Sohar’s customs Mr. Mahfoodh bin
Khamis intimated to me that a man from Kuwait by name
Budr bin Abdul Wahab Qatami came to Sohar in his own
boat and purchased fire wood from many persons. After
his departure which took place on the 2nd of July 1941.
The Amin received information after sometimes that the
l\J&Q
boat had been attacked by some pirates and looted. The
owner of the boat and the crew were murdered.
A week
ago another sailing boat from Kuwait arrived at Sohar.
The amin went to the crew used asked whether 1 Budr had
reached Kuwait or not. They replied that upto the
date of their departure the boat had not arrived. I
left Sohar for Kalba at 2 . p.m.and reached Kalba at
4.p.m. and met Shaikh Khalid at the same time . I did
not stay long with him as he declared to me that he had
just- arrived from 30 days tour to Ajman and knew nothing
about Mirza, but when I was about to leave his clerk
came to me and said that Shaikh l&alid. had just received
