Ahmaa bin Hasan Al-^asm resident of Qatar, to H.B.M's Consul, Muscat
After compliments,
I am a Naichudah, My name is Ahmad bin Hasan Al-Q.asmi
subject of Qatar. I departed from Basra in a boat belonging to Haji
Abdulab. Husain Gayid with a cargo of dates. We were going to Karachi.!
When we reached Has Mubarak and Salamah where the depth was about
90 feet some armed Baluchi pirates came to us and started beating us
very severly. They had guns with them and came in a small boat. They)
robbed us of our money end all our food which consisted of rice,
Hour, tea and. dates and all the eatables that we had with us and
did not leave even one day's meal. They took also our clothes and
boxes and a sum of Hs.500/-. Then they saill in their boat to the
Batinah side where they are living. We are under God's protection
and yours and request that you will kindly recover our money when y 0 u|
come to taow in which place of Batinah they are. You know also that
we are not permitted to carry any arms with'jwhen travelling at sea
and if we had some with us they would have not dared to rob us. Whatj
happened to us has been told to you. Today we are leaving' Jask for
