A document setting out how Robert Cowan, when Chief of the Mocha Factory An East India Company trading post. , with the aid of John Gerrard, Second of the Mocha Factory An East India Company trading post. , was accused of purchasing coffee for his own private account at a cheaper price than the East India Company would have been expected to pay, and therefore serving his own interests whilst neglecting the Company’s interests. It includes copied extracts of correspondence between Cowan and Gerrard, and between Gerrard and Francis Dickinson of the Mocha Factory An East India Company trading post. .
