A copy of a general letter from Bombay Castle to the Chief and factors at the Mocha Factory An East India Company trading post. , dated 27 March 1722. It reports news of ships that had been dispatched, and other news including the surrender of Spahaun [Isfahan] to Afghan invaders. It also gives instructions, including the following: to enquire into what had happened to the ketch which had been sent to Socotra; to receive an enclosed bill of exchange of eleven thousand Spanish dollars; and to return the ship Hanover to Bombay with a full loading of coffee, if possible. The letter was received via the ship Barrington on 12 March 1723 [New Style date 12 March 1724].
