A general letter from Mocha to the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. of the East India Company, signed by Robert Cowan and Francis Dickinson, dated 26 January 1723/4 [Old Style date 1723, New Style date 1724]. The letter reports on matters including: ships and goods which had arrived at Mocha, and ships which had been dispatched; the arrival of the new Chief of the Factory An East India Company trading post. , Robert Cowan; and the high price of coffee and the difficulty in obtaining a large quantity of it.
