I am directed to inform you that you have been selected for employment
under Sir P. Sykes, who has been deputed to Persia in connection With the
organisation of a military police force.
2. While so employed you will draw your pay in the Political Depart
ment plus a remunerative allowance of Its. 300 a month in addition to
travelling allowance at the rates adtnissible to Political Officers in the Persian
Gulf.

You should proceed with all expedition to Bunder Abbas and there
report yourself to Sir P. Sykes for further instructions.

of Captain A. D. Wise 27th Light Infantry, and Captain H. Eluckwell, 106th
Hazara Pioneers, have been p.aced at your disposal for employment with the
Babich and Hazara Levy Corps, respectively. : ue
2. The Government of India sanction these officers drawing, while so
employed, the pay of their rank plus Rs. 300 staff pay.

The volume contains correspondence regarding the Persian Campaign of the First World War and the movements and activities of the Central Powers in Persia [Iran] between November 1915 and April 1916. The correspondence is particularly concerned with German and Ottoman attempts to infiltrate Afghanistan from Persia, and of ensuring the continued neutrality of both Afghanistan and Persia.
The primary correspondents are the British Legation, Tehran; the British Consulate, Seistan and Kain; and the Government of India.
The volume contains a single folio in French (f 164), a communication from the National Committee for the Protection of the Independence of Persia.
