ARTICLE 10,
The H.C*P* undertake, each as far as the territory under Its
jurisdiction Is concerned, to prohibit the impcrtation of arias and

parts, to the territorial areas and mritime zone defined in Article
(10.A*>

Th^r likewise undertake eaoh so far as tlie territory under its
jurisdiction is concerned, to prohibit the import and. transportation
without licence of the arms and munitions in Categories I and II, in
the territorial areas and maritime zone defined in Article (10.A«)
The H*C*P* agree only to grant licences in accordance with the
following rulesj-
(a) In the case of those ports of the prohibition areas which
are under the jurisdiction or tutelage of one of the H*C.P«,
the authorities of the exporting countiy shall, before granting
an export licence, satisfy themselves that the arms and
ammunition for which such licence is recuested are intended
for a proi^er purpotse and not for disposal in any way contrary
to the obl ec^s of this ocnrenticn, and that the authorities of
the Importing country or, JLf the case arises, the authorities
of the country unr?er whose tutelage the importing country stands
are pi eparod to admit their entry*
(b) In the case of those parts of the prohibition areas which
•are not under the jurisdiction or tutelage of one of the K.C*P*
the authorities of the exporting country snail, before, granting'
an export licence satisfy themselves that the arms and ammunition for
which such licence is requested, are intended for a proper purpose
and not for disposal in any way contrary to the objects of this
convention, or any other international engagement that may exist
end further that the quantity supplied is not greater than that

Licences for the expor t of arms end munitions under Categories I .a. and
I.(c) will be granted only undor the Conditions specified in Articles
2 and 3, \
The issue of licences to import arms and munitions shall be subject
to such regulations as the authorities of the importing country may, from .

Consignments of arms and munitions in transit shall be subject to the
provisions of Article 4*
