LIy name is Rayeh hint Khaddum of Khadra in Batinah.
I am about 36 years old. My father died when I was in
my country. I have no one except my mother Ayesha and
3 brothers named Salem, Salloom and Khalifah. At the age
of fifteen, one night four bedeuins, whose names I do not
know, attacked us and kidnapped me from my village along
with five other girls anmed Sawood, Halloom, Ayesha,
Salimah and Shaikho. T do not know the names of their
fathers. We were taken to Duraizi whcih is ruled by the
family of Ali bin Sawood. This place is at a distance of
ten days journey on camel from our village. We stayed
for two days at Duraizi after which they took us to
Zank v/hich is at a distance of two days journey on camel
from Duraizi. There they sold me to Abdullah bin Muhammad
A1 Minziri resident of Zank. He is a slave trader. As
for the girls who were with me I do not know where they
were taken. I served my master Abdullah bin Muhammad
Minziri for two months after which he sent me with his
son TTaser bin Abdullah Minziri to Dubai. He sold me to
Salehah bint Bati resident of Dubai. I remained in the
service of Saleha bint Bati for ten years after which she
sent me with her brother Muhammad bin Bati to Abu Dhabi.
He sold me to Abbas bin Muhammad A1 Ajami resident of
Abu Dhabi. I served my master Abbas bin Muhammad for ten
years. Eight years ago my master got me married with
Abdullah bin Mubarak of Hasa, a free man, living in Abu
Dhabi and earning his livelihood as a diver. Till now I
am his wife. Three days ago the wife of my master beat me
without any fault on my part and it was over and above
the illtreatment I had been receiving in their hands since
I came to their service. I runaway from Abu Dhabi and came
to Dubai in the boat of Salem A1 Amlah. At Dubai I hired
a donkey and came to Sharjah to ask the G-reat Government
to make me free from slavery.
