1 was born in slavery at Ras-el-Knairaan. tly parents
v/ere slaves of bhaikk ^ihmad fiajwani, .^ohi of Ha^-el-Phaimah
in whose nouse i was brought up. iJy father ran away from
Las-el-knaifiiah twenty-five years ago; went to Lingan ana
after getting a manumission certificate from tne British
jigent, he proceeuea to Bahrain,nis permanent residence. At
tn&t time 1 was only two years old. My mother and myself
remained in tne nouse of our master but my motner diea nine
years ago leaving me alone. All this time 1 nave been
serving my master as a domestic servant, iwo years ago 1
escaped from my master, went to Sharjah and wrote a letter
to my father from there informing him of my escape and
requesting him to come over to Sharjah ana take me away with
him. He accordingly came to Sharjah and brought me to
Bahrain where I nave since been staying.
I have not been receiving gooa treatment at the
hands of my master wno, apart from giving me muen worjc to
do, was not ^r^viaing me witn sufiicient iooa , clothing
ana other life necessities. He also aiu not get me married
though i attained tne matrimonial age.
Under those circumstances, i request that 1 may be
granted a monumisoion certificate so that i may live a free
life.
