I. PERSIA: DEVSLQPMEHT OF AGHA JARI
Proposals designed to obtain the inaximum advantage from
existing or projected facilities in Persia have been under
continual consideration, and particularly those which involve
the minimum tonnage of critical materials*
2* Recent discussions between the Petroleum Division and
the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company have indicated that if the
maximum use is to be made of the refinery facilities at Abadan,
the development of additional supplies of crude oil is necessary.
3, The annual refinery capacity, on completion of
extensions now in progress, is estimated to be as follows,
in terms of output:-
Aviation Spirit ('100 octane)
” " (87/90
Motor Sjurit (80
Kerosenes
Vapourising Oil
Gas Oil
Diesel and Furnace Oil
Bitumen

The existing pipeline capacity is 16,620,000 tons per
nnum but in view of the need for returning large quantities
)f surplus heavy products to the reservoir, a considerably
arger capacity would be required in order to permit of a crude

The present proposals cover:-
