We inform your honour,oh friend, that on this even
date we received letters both from the Turks and Zaidis
in which letters they enjoin us to go to his honour Said
Pasha An Ottoman title used after the names of certain provincial governors, high-ranking officials and military commanders. or to them.We enclose the letter for your perusal.
Tney inform us that they are marching against the Eastern
tract for the purpose of severing the relations existing
between the British Government and the Arab chiefs. They
intend to march against our country and Hadramout. Our
country is part and parcel of Hadramout. Because we are
in treaty relations with you, they therefore desire to
disrespect our country. They appear to be in preparations
to march against us.They have come as far as Rada and also
deceitfully captured some of the Akils of the Masahi clan,
ihose people are upto the present moment as captives in
their hands.After they reach at Behan-Masabi tract there
will remain a distance of one day and one ni^it between
them and the tract of Sultan Saleh bin Abdulla. We have
engaged not to willingly allow anyone to secure a foothold
in our country; but these blocks desire to encroach upon
our country by force. ¥ou have similarly engaged to back
us up in the event of any one trying to enter our country
with fire and sword. The country of the Aulaki is without
prosperous conditions. Its army is strong but is poor
in war materials and provisions whereas the armies require
proper arrangement i.e. expenses, war materials r&es and
arms in order to De useful to them on the oorder of the
frontier for the purpose of driving away the enemies from
