3 * The Kadi of Behan writing on 19th November
19x6 states that another messenger carrying 2 letter*
to t,ie aadre*s oi the Be si dent from the Imam passed
throu^i his borders and wa* passed on to a friend of
hi* at Ni*ab (Aulaki territory)# This friend is the no
torious Saiyid Mahomed bin Mahomed al Haddad whose pro
clivities are decidedly pro-Turk, It is not clear why
the Kadi allowed him to go there. The Kadi is curious
to know the content* of these letter*. He say* that he
will be rejoiced to know that the British Government
ha* entered into friendly relations with the Imam, and
this wilx clear the situation so far as his own relation*
with the Imam are concerned - for the Zeidi intrigue*
toward* Beda, Behan and the H.E. direction had caused
his flight from that quarter, (Vide paragraph 8 of Week
ly Letter dated 21 st September 1916).

Meccan envoy - one Sheikh Mahomed bin Ibrahim who ha*
lectured to all and sundry in praise of the Sherif and
