The following new* has been gathered from Iffohamed
bin All Hiba Mafcki of Zabid.
I oam« from Sana*- 1 travelled for 18 days until
I reached Aden. There is some quietitude at Sana?now.
The son of the Imam named Ahmed bin Yehia Hamid Ad-Bin
nicknamed "AX Jfotawakil Alla Allah ’ 5 (also oalied A1
Vomahid) has revolted against his father Imam Yehia and
took possession of all ammunitions, store* &o as also
large amounts of funds of the State. The reason is said
to be that he (son of the Imam) became much angry against
the Turks for killing the Learned men and firing at the
Holy Hlaoe of Mecca. He proceeded to the tribesmen of
Hashid and Bakeel and stayed with them for sometime. He
wrote to all the heads of the various tribes in Yemen
to come to hi* and they have done *o. He entered into
solemn undertakings with them to the effect that they
shall ©spouse his cause and support him in every reject.
He obtained document* duly sealed by them to this effect.
He explained to them th© tyrannical reign of th© Turks
and their outrageous deeds. He accuses the Turks of
having disrespected th© Holy Flao© of Mecca by killing
th® learned men and th® firing on th© Haba. Such acts
he says on their part is a direct interference again 8 -
th© religion. The Heads of the tribesmen also complain© d
to the son of the Imam against th® Turks for having
out off their usual allowances and that by SaeedBasha**
going to Lahej they hav® been put into great inconvenien
ces. They ceased to get all their requirements which
they used to get from Aden &o. Th© son of the Imam
pointed out to them that h© will take revenge for them
from the Turks. H® wants to keep no eign of
