This file contains correspondence between Cornelius James Pelly, British Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. at Bahrain; the Commanding Officer of the HMS Wren ; and Charles Dalyrmple Belgrave, Adviser to the Bahrain Government. These correspondence concern a number of desertions of Somali naval officers from the HMS Wren and HMS Loch Glendhu who were possibly recruited for labour in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
