24 of my despatch of the 24th ifoyeinberild i5, in which 1
allude to the desire expressed by the Sultan of $ajd
for an early revision of the Treaty concluded between him
and His Majesty’s Government in 1916.
2. his Highness raiseu this question definitely
at one of our later meetings (the eighteenth) when the
agreements regarding Iraq and Trans Jordan had been
concluded. A reference to tiie He cord of I^roceedinge
attached to my above quoted despatch will show tiiat,
at the preceding meeting (the seventeenth) he had mads a
particular point, before broaching this subject, of
obtaining an assurance from me th<ai his views and wishes
would be transmitted direct to his Majesty’s Government
and would receive tneir full consideration. he also
expressed the nope that he would receive in due course
a reply to his representations.
3. I consiuered it advisaole and proper to give the
required assurance ana, being satisfied on that score,
