(b) That the tribunal provided for in Article 2 of the Bahra
Agreement should be charged with the task of enquiring into the
claims of both sides and of assessing compensation due for the
losses resulting from raids taking place during the above-
mentioned period, without prejudice to the other duties which
this tribunal will have to perform in the future.
, ^ ^ ^ this tribunal should be assembled and should meet
within a period not exceeding six months from the date of the
ratification of the Bahra Agreement by the Government of ‘Irae^
in accordance with their constitutional laws.

Dear Taufiq Bey,
IVIy negotiations with the Sultan of Nejd have now reached a
stage at which I consider it unnecessary to retain your services any
longer with this Mission.
The general agreement in regard to frontier matters between the
territories of ‘Iraq and Nejd has now been completed and only awaits
signature. You have had the opportunity of examining the terms of
this agreement, and will be in a position to acquaint your Government
informally of their substance, but I do not wish to communicate
them to you officially or to give you a complete copy of the agree
ment itself, as I consider the proper channel through which to
