(c) that the southern extremity of the frontier proposed bv
you should be amended in such a way as to create a neutral
area whose limits shall be formed by the following - quadrilateral :
from the intersection of meridian 37°E and parallel 31°N to
the intersection of meridian 38°E and parallel 30°N, and thence
southwards along meridian 38°E to the fixed point west of the
Nafud Salient; thence along a straight line due east to meridian
37°E, and thence northwards along meridian 37°E back to the
starting point of the quadrilateral.
These conditions are put forward in the firm belief that they
are in accordance with the wishes and interest of both parties.

Draft Agreement Concerning Trans-Jordan, presented by the
Sultan of Nejd on the 27th October, 1925.
Translation.
A rticle 2.
The Nejd Government undertake to abstain from erecting any
fortification at Kaf and from using it as a military centre. But
should special measures become necessary for the preservation of
order or for any other purpose involving the concentration of armed
forces, they may do so, undertaking at the same time to inform the
British Government of the necessity which dictates those measures.
Further, the Nejd Government undertake, as far as possible, to
prevent their forces from encroaching into Trans-Jordan territory.
In return for this the British Government undertake to do in the
Azraq district precisely what Nejd undertake for Kaf.
Article 3.
In order to strengthen mutual confidence between them and to
facilitate full co-operation, the two parties agree to initiate such
correspondence as may be necessary between the Governor of Wadi A seasonal or intermittent watercourse, or the valley in which it flows.
Sirhan and the British Representative in Trans-Jordan, in matters
connected with the movements of tribes.
Article 4.
The Nejd Government undertake to preserve all rights of grazing
and habitation which may be enjoyed by tribes subject to Trans
jordan on condition that such tribes will obey internal regulations
(of Nejd).
The British Government undertake to do with regard to Nejd
subjects in Frans-Jordan precisely what Nejd undertake above.
(Here follow Articles 5 to 11 identical with Articles 1 to 7 of
the ‘Iraq Agreement.*)
