Sir:-
I am directed by Secretary Sir Austen Chamberlain
to acknowledge the receipt of your 1 otter Ko. C 3328/26
of February 27, inviting representatives of this oifice
to attend a conference to be held at the Colonial Oifico
on March 5 to consider certain questions in connection
with the relations between His Majesty*? Governmont
and Ibn Baud.
2. The agenaa of the proposed conference have
only just reached this Department, and in view of the
fact that no less than t a n separate questions of
considerable complexity are to be discussed,the Beer tery
of State regrets that he cannot, before March 5, furnish
his representatives with the necessary instructions. In
these circumstances. Sir Austen Chamberlain hopes that
Mr. Secretary /mery may find it possible to postpone the
conference for a week. Sir a. Chamberlain will gladly
arrange for members of the Foreign Office to be present
thereat.
