16. Hifci -ianuaai .> .^nd the liarbaur at Ran
In view of t'le delay in uy return to Sngland
caused by my journey to the Yaman, I thought it well
to explain to Ibn d a ud the reasons ^ilch would prevent
with
me, for some weeks, from dealing/saae of the points which
he had %sked me to take up with tlie various authorities
concerned, while at tho aame time informing hiia of shat
I had been able to do in regard toothers. I, therefore,
wrote him a letter from Hoaaran dated the 16th January,
1926, of which 1 attach a copy. You will see that I
dealt with the question of the Sonusai and also with that
of the suggested harbour at Has Tannura, and it does not
appear necessary now to add anything to what I wrote to
him them:, though perhaps the British Consul at Jedda
migfrt be instructed to bear the question of the Harbour
in mind, in case Ibn Jaud should raise it at a later
date.
17. Bel imitation af the Tr^a-Jordan frontier.
I agree with the reeoiuaendation of the conference
that delimitation of the Trans-Jordan frontier should be
deferred until the new treaty with Ibn ^aud has been
concluded and the frontier between Najd and British
mandated territory can be dealt with as one whole.
Yours sincerely,
(3d) Crilbert Clayton.
